Dixi era un brand auto din fabrica de mașini Eisenach făcute din 1904, cu toate acestea, în climatul dificil din 1920 compania ia fost greu sa-și vîndă 6 / 24 si 9 / 40 de modele.Producătorul a uitat sa intre pe piața mașinilor mici, iar în 1927 au convenit la un comun acord de licența cu compania Austin Motor pentru a construi o varianta de Austin 7. Un nivel de producție de 2000 de mașini pe an, și Dixi Austin plătit o redevența pentru fiecare vehicul produs.

Caroseria cu doua uși a nou-venitei era făcuta din otel, o premiera în acest segment. Dixi era propulsata de un motor răcit cu apa în 4 cilindri, cu capacitatea de 747 cm3 și care dezvolta o putere maxima de 15 cai putere (CP). Structura consta din bucăți de tabla nituite. Ambele punți erau rigide. "Mai mare înauntru decât afara", a devenit primul slogan comercial al programului BMW.

The Dixi was the first car made by BMW.
1928 BMW Dixi
Dixi was car brand of Eisenach car factory made from 1904; however, in the difficult climate of the 1920s the company found it hard to sell its 6/24 and 9/40 models. The manufacturer looked to enter the small car market, and in 1927 agreed to a licensing agreement with the Austin Motor Company to build a variant of the Austin 7. A production level of 2000 cars a year was agreed upon, and Dixi paid Austin a royalty on each vehicle produced.

Body with two doors to new arrivals was made ??of steel, a first in this segment. Dixi was powered by a water-cooled 4-cylinder, 747 cm3 capacity and developing maximum output of 15 horsepower (hp). The structure consists of pieces of metal riveted. Both bridges were rigid. "Bigger inside than outside," became the first slogan for the BMW program.
